The human right to water and sanitation is being increasingly promoted as a way of viewing and addressing the world water crisis. This conference provides an opportunity for participants to reflect on the theory and growing practice surrounding this human right from a multi-disciplinary perspective. Some of the key questions include the implications of the right for legal and economic regimes, the allocation of scarce water resources, international development as well as the rights of women, indigenous peoples and minorities.
